The following letter from ESSE President Fernando Galvan concerns the earthquake in L'Aquila
Dear Board members and friends,
Our colleague, Pina Cortese, in her capacity as President of AIA, the
Italian Association, has sent me the attached document. As you will see,
our colleagues at the University of L'Aquila, in Italy, are going
through a catastrophic situation (academically as well as personally),
as a consequence of the recent earthquake that all of you must have
heard about, and which destroyed, among many other things and people,
their university. The Italian Association, as you will be able to see in
this document, is asking for the support and solidarity of all those who
can contribute, in whatever measure, to alleviate the penuries of our
colleagues in L'Aquila.
I will certainly appreciate any effort you can make, within your
national association, to disseminate this information and encourage
colleagues to support this initiative.
All my best wishes and solidarity with our Italian colleagues,
Fernando Galvan,
ESSE President
